We love having our furry, scaly, feathered and hairy creatures stay, but we have a few rules that help us all live in furry harmony together.
Pet Charge:
Pet’s stay is $15 a night as we need to spend longer cleaning rooms that have had animals in them.
National Park:
Dogs are not allowed in the National Park. This means if you are planning to go on a long hike, you need to make arrangements for someone to stay behind with your pet. We're sorry, we cannot offer a pet minding service.
No Cats:
Cats are not allowed anywhere in Halls Gap. This is because your cute little fluff ball is a potential mass-murderer of native wildlife. Please don't call to ask for an exception for your particularly-friendly-always-indoors-never-killed-anything cat, this is a council by-law and we cannot break it.
Room Closure:
If for any reason we need to close down your room to deal with something left behind by your pet -- fleas, odours, stains, or damage -- we may have to charge a closure and cleaning fee of up to $150 to cover our costs. If the damage is severe and the room is unavailable for an extended period, this amount may be up to $500 plus the cost of repairs.
We understand that accidents happen so please let us know if anything has happened. This way we can minimize damage and the closure period, which means it may not cost you so much. The people who leave and try to pretend that nothing happened tend to get less leniency when calculating the costs, if you know what we mean.
Call of the wild:
Please be very aware of the guests around you. If your pet is behaving in a way that is disturbing, frightening, or just annoying to other guests we may have to ask you to leave the motel. We offer pet friendly rooms as an additional service for you. But if making you happy results in other guests being unhappy, we sometimes have to make a difficult choice about who gets to stay here. Refunds are unlikely in this situation.
Phew ...now that the serious stuff is taken care of we hope that you and your pet have a lovely stay here. If there is anything that you need
please come and ask us, as we are more than happy to help you if we can.
- It's really important to not leave your pet in your room without you. Dogs have a tendency to bark, scratch at doors, and otherwise freak out when left unattended in a strange place. Barking dogs cause other people’s stay to be unpleasant. If you leave your dog unattended, you can expect a phone call from us, and we may have to ask you to leave.
- Animals must have their own bed on the floor that you have brought and cannot sleep on the bed with you. This is really important for the health of others. Cuddles will need to wait to the morning.
- You will need to pick up all poo and clean up after your pet. This goes for outside and inside.
